Pictured above back row center, Tom Rauch was trained and ordained as a Roman Catholic priest. He moved into anti Vietnam War work in the mid 1960’s and helped organize the Colorado chapter of Clergy and Lay Concerned about the Vietnam War. He acted as a draft counselor at that time. He help organize continued protests against the Rocky Flats Nuclear Weapons Plant including the 17,000 plus encirclement of that weapons production site. He served as Rocky Flats Action director for the Denver Chapter of the American Friends Service Committee, helped organize the Colorado Coalition for the Prevention of Nuclear War and for decades, served as chair of our organization’s Board of Directors. He organized many events such as the one pictured above commemorating the August 6 and 9th Atomic Bombing of Japan. In later years he oversaw the care of his wife, Maureen. Now, at 88, he as joined the great cloud of witnesses who empower our continue witness.
