Nuclear divestment by US cities: Cambridge, Charlottesville and New York

• On March 21, 2016, Cambridge, Massachuestts City Council adopted policy to end investments of the Cambridge Retirement System in nuclear weapons corporations, and to encourage and support Cambridge institutions and individuals to end investments of their pension funds in nuclear weapons corporations;
• On June 3, 2019 the City of Charlottesville, Virginia decided to end investments of its operating budget fund in weapons and fossil fuel companies. Ths includes investments in nuclear weapons companies. See Charlotteville City divests from fossil fuel and weapons industries;
• On June 26, 2019, New York City Council members Daniel Dromm, Helen Rosenthal and Ben Kallos introduced a resolution calling on New York City to divest from companies involved in the production of nuclear weapons, support the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons and reaffirm New York City as a Nuclear Weapons
