This article describes how, under Republican Presidents and leadership by hawksh(like John Bolton), the US has continued to think the supposedly unthinkable including destruction of cities. Be clear, these new useable warheads, supposedly small in size are indeed small in comparison to the huge megabombs of the Cold War MAD production (350 to 500 Kilotons to even Megaton size) But they are similar in destructive power to the Hiroshima and Nagasaki weapons (15-20 Kilotons). Useable? Really? The International Court of Justice in 1998 issued an advisory opinion that the possession and/or use of nuclear weapons was a crime against humanity. We executed Nazis as War Criminals but now are thinking and acting like them, justifying the slaughter of whole cities in the national defense. (To defeat the enemies of “Freedom” or, to protect American Interests and Investments) This kind of thinking passes down to terrorists as justification for their mass shootings or bombings in defense of their ideology or just to assuage their anger.
