Letter to Senators
Demands action —>Treaty on Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons
detail (H.Res 77). https://www.congress.gov/bill/118th-congress/house-resolution/77
I urge you to move forward. We are demanding that you and your colleagues in the Congress work hard to adopt the Treaty on Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons and put the President on notice that we expect him to push for this Treaty as well.
Between Russia and the US there are 14,000 thermonuclear weapons available for extermination of all life on our planet. The UK, France, China, N. Korea, Israel, India and Pakistan all have substantial armories containing these devilish devices. There is conflict among many of these countries. So, there is a big set of excuses that could be used to light up nuclear war. It could be as simple as how the assassination of Archduke Ferdinand started WWI.
SA
These terrible tools can be set off accidentally or by malice. There are a number of heads of state who are only marginally rational. There are angry, malicious and mean-spirited Generals, Colonels and techies near enough to these weapons to lead us into a WWIII, perhaps a 5-year nuclear winter.
We demand action on this crucial issue. Bring the Treaty on Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons before the Senate to be ratified. Demand the President’s support.
